The other day, Liliana hugged my arm and said,
“Mommy, you’re so strong.” ❤️ 💪🏼
I wasn’t working out. I wasn’t posing.
But something in her saw strength… and it overwhelmed me with emotion.
Because this is exactly why I committed to HYROX Boston.
Not to become smaller.
Not to chase perfection.
But to show my daughter what it looks like to train for performance, resilience, discipline, and confidence.
To show her that women can take up space.
That strength is beautiful.
That food is fuel, not something to fear.
That our bodies are meant to support our lives, not become our biggest enemy.
Years ago, during bikini competition prep, my relationship with food and my body looked very different.
And while that season taught me discipline, motherhood taught me something even more important:
My body is strong and can support me through life not just “look” fit.
My daughter is always watching.
Watching how I speak about myself.
How I nourish myself.
How I handle hard things.
How I show up when things feel uncomfortable.
She’s in gymnastics now, and I know as she gets older there will be moments that test her confidence. I know because I lived it.
When I was 12, girls I thought were my friends mocked me for my curves, for loving pageants, for being different. Those moments stay with you.
And while I can’t protect her from every opinion or every hurtful comment that may come her way… I can help build the foundation before those moments arrive.
I can raise her to know her worth is never tied to being smaller.
I can show her what confidence looks like in real time.
I can teach her to love who she is before the world tries to tell her otherwise.
And that starts with me.

You can’t expect your kids to not get “hangry” like we do.
Hidden hunger is REAL (truthfully in Moms and kids) under-nourished is an issue!
Most kids don’t eat enough during the school day
🚫 rushed lunches
🚫 short lunch periods
🚫 not loving what’s packed or served
🚫 too distracted to actually sit and eat
So by the time they get out of school, their brains & bodies are running on empty.
And then we expect them to go crush practice, focus on homework, regulate emotions, and grow?!
