A shout-out to Middleton Electric Light as we celebrate National Lineman Appreciation Day! Thank you for your hard work, dedication, and for keeping our community powered every day, including during some of the nastiest weather conditions.

The Middleton Fire Department recently took delivery of our new KME pumper. This apparatus, which was ordered nearly four years ago, will replace our 2002 engine and represents a significant investment in the safety and capabilities of our department.

We anticipate placing the new engine into service in the coming weeks following final preparations and training.

We are grateful to the residents of Middleton for their continued support in making this important purchase possible.

Members of the Middleton, Topsfield, and Boxford Fire and Police Departments, along with the Essex County Sheriff’s Department, participated in active shooter training earlier today at Masconomet Regional High School.

These realistic training exercises are essential to keeping public safety personnel prepared and proficient in the critical skills needed to respond effectively to these unfortunate incidents. Ongoing collaboration and training like this help ensure a coordinated, professional response when it matters most.

Overloading extension cords and power strips can cause a fire at home. Limit their use, and never plug one into another. If you have to use an extension cord outside, be sure it's rated for outdoor use and keep it away from water, snow, and ice.
