This morning we trained at Knife Shop Pond in Northfield. We started by locating and inspecting a dry hydrant, which is crucial for Northfield's water supply. We then set up a grid search looking for small objects. Once debris was loaded into buckets, topside personnel screened them to see what was brought up. The training was challenging dealing with Lilly pads and their roots, but we were able to locate lots of objects ranging from fishing hooks and lures to an old street sign.

Pool training tonight was spent learning and reviewing different types of search patterns. We have been very fortunate to have a great partnership with Bristol Parks, Recreation, Youth and Community Services to practice in a controlled environment. Most of the time, we are diving in limited visibility, so divers wore blackout masks to simulate not being able to see what they were searching for.
