When you are a tricolor chestnut with 3 lengths of winter coat because you got a clip in October and it has grown back in already and we've got 80+ degrees so you are boiling which means you get your neck and shoulders clipped again for a little air conditioning. After being tortured by a snowflake shaped supergrid involving every pole your human staff has, she is so rude to try and keep you fit.

One of my home hatched babies has layed their first egg!!! Look how tiny it is compared to one of the regular eggs!

Boots has become more social and is trying to be more comfortable with me, today he decided to try and be in the hay stall while I was filling bags, and we did pretty good, he didn't run away. Usually Pippi comes in with me and I pet and cuddle her, Boots must be getting jealous. Soon I'll be able to pet and cuddle him like I do Pippi. Although Boots does win over Pippi on willingness to come in the trailer, he walks in and sits down just inside the door and waits for King to join him.

No coyotes on Gator's watch! Since it is getting cold for a couple days, I figured we'd see a few more chicken eating critters and I was right! Gator ran off either the same coyote twice or a pair of them as they crossed our property! He is a big brave boy that will plunge into the woods and brush to keep chase, even though he can't catch them. But it sends a message, move along nothing to see here, no stealing any of my chickens! He's a good farm dog.

We are ready for our cat churros and our special drops aka topical fles treatments, its the start of a new month! Boots has discovered being more accepting of humans is pretty good, I have food and my pets are brief and gentle. The other morning I found the back half of a squirrel left at my tack locker for me, a gift from one of the 3 kitties for the hairless bad hunting weird shaped cat friend, so I think they are all accepting me into the cat clan.

We did a stall shuffle and decided another stall could have the special 1 taped seam seamless stall mat system put in. So luxurious and expertly smoothed out by puppy power. Now to refill it with new bedding!

Our hen Lavender has adopted the 5 youngest chicks and watches over them most of the time they are free range. I'm thinking she will be a good hen to let hatch a clutch of eggs, when I am ready to do that and she wants to be broody again.

When you both want cuddles at the same time, you both sit or lay on mama's lap. And then mama gets a combo kittycat snuggles and big puppy snuggles.

I need more poles...the curse of loving grids. I reset my patterns but need to build a baby grid for Strider who doesn't believe in picking up his feet, he prefers to clonk and step on anything more than 2inches high because of course that's the right way to do it. Melody prefers a big girl monster grid because she knows what she's doing. Guess I'll be getting some more today during errands. Because even the dogs like to run through them.

At least it was only bell boots I had to go find in the big pasture.

Pippi is a good barn kitty and is slowly exploring further and further from the barn. Today she is hunting bugs, scampering along the fencelines to drop on them from above.

Which little kitty is a polite, nervous eater but learning to enjoy a nighttime treat, and which kitty is a ravenous monster who chews up her treat packaging because she has been "starving" all day aka got fresh crunchies and water this morning, hmm...
