Bartlett's Fish Camp offers the region's only raw bar with Michigan City's closest waterfront dining,

Bartlett's Fish Bar Oyster Bar and Kitchen is a casual upscale concept by Nicole Bissonnette. It brings thoughtful seafood dishes to the region along with locally sourced meat and vegetarian options. While seafood and fresh oysters are a focus, be assured that there is something on the menu for everyone. Look for the outdoor patio in summer and cozy dining room all year long at the mouth of Lake Michigan harbor!

Well, that was a beautiful Saturday at Fish Camp!

We were absolutely slammed at all 3 places, and we’re incredibly grateful to all of our guests who understand that in the heart of summer, at one of the few waterfront restaurants around here, fresh-made food takes a little time. Yesterday our team served more than 850 plates of food—from apps, oysters and salads to entrées and desserts. A handful of people waited longer than we would have liked, and we acknowledge that.

A huge thank you to our crew, and especially to our hardworking kitchen team, who stood on the line and cooked for nearly 12 hours straight. That goes for &Grill too. I really am so lucky - the best teams and leaders are what make it come together.

And yes, the kitchen crew earned a very cold beer at the end of night- specifically some Corona Familiares. Special thanks to Jack for always being thoughtful. The kitchen boys appreciate it.

We’re back at it today for Father’s Day from 11:00–5:00 with our regular menu. Bring Dad down for a meal. Looks like the grill out might be dampened by rain! Happy Father's Day to all the dads and male mentors out there!

WEDNESDAY
Today’s weather forecast: TORNADO!

Actual 6 PM weather: 😎 SUN!

After a day of heavy rain, high winds, and a few employees being told by their parents to stay home, I made the call early afternoon to close Fish Camp.

By dinnertime now the sun is almost out fully. I guess the more severe stuff went south of us.

I can’t control the weather, but I can make decisions with the safety of crew and guests in mind over in this funny weather pocket on the lake. Last Thursday the alarms were sounding and guests were in our basement. I’d rather apologize for being overly cautious than wish having been more cautious.

We’ll be here tomorrow Thursday rain or shine. Thanks for understanding. My apologies to those that came out. 😩

SUNDAY Open 11-4pm
That was quite a Saturday! 😅A huge thank you to our Fish Camp crew for serving over 800 plates of food, shucking hundreds of oysters, and working it as a team.

With two significant team members out for emergencies, service maybe wasnt as detailed and delivery speed waned later in the evening as volume increased. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Special gracias goes to Javier and his kitchen crew, who cooked over hot stoves literally nearly 12 hours straight. By the end of the night they may have lost a little steam, but they never stopped working or caring.

Summer in a seasonal restaurant with staffing challenges isn’t easy. I’m incredibly grateful of all 3 crews (Fish Camp, 'sBar&Grill and BaseCamp Marina Cafe + Provisions) for being positive and hard working! Find below Sunday offerings, available until they run out.

SATURDAY
We are back at it! Open 11-9pm .

Meet Javi, he who has learned to prepare everything in the kitchen. He started with me 4 years ago and worked his tail off to learn every aspect of the kitchen and now manages ordering, prep, saute and leading the hot line. On days off he is here prepping, and likes to cook alone in the kitchen for his "down time". We are grateful for his dedication, hard work and friendship. We still have some fresh soft shells and more walleye arrived this morning. Come over to enjoy the great weather. Again, looks like weather changing tonight.
