This Friday is honored to present the debut of ’s experimental project Mark Small’s Big Division. This set will feature on guitar and on 8-string baritone guitar. It will be a departure from the standard jazz practices Small is widely known for. Expect a new sound comprised of electronically altered woodwinds, psychedelic guitar textures and atmospheres, unorthodox melodies and rhythms all lined with the musical prowess and arrangement proficiency Small is best known for. [RESONANCE] is a cross-genre, interdisciplinary experimental music series that explores the boundaries of consciousness and dimensional perception through the process of cathartic performance.
LEYA (NYC) - Harpist Marilu Donovan and violinist/vocalist Adam Markiewicz are NYC-based duo LEYA. LEYA works with and against the grain of tradition, mining intensity though alternate tunings, strange harmonies, and dream state operatic vocals. The resulting experience is one of beauty but spans many imperfect worlds.
Mark Small's Big Division - Mark Small is a saxophonist/woodwind player/composer with a prolific career, having been part of Grammy award-winning recordings, world tours, and countless television appearances. Best known in the Miami jazz scene for his live performances, this debut of his new experimental project will come as a much-anticipated surprise and breath of fresh air for his devoted audience.
Night Foundation - Richard Vergez has been at the crest of south Florida's experimental music scene for over a decade. Founding Noir Age in 2017 as a vehicle for his own compositions and collaborations, the label has expanded to reach and feature artists from all around the experimental music world, spanning a prolific catalog of soundscapes, ambient pieces, and tape-based experimentations. His captivating compositions slowly build barren landscapes of sound, using analog synthesizers, tape machines, loops, and unconventional home-made instruments.
