Why Curious People Are Destined for the C-Suite Curiosity and open-mindedness are getting their due.

For many of us the idea of routine is akin to a loss of freedom. It feels as though we are bound to a boring daily repeat. No one wants to live "Groundhogs Day!" However, when you choose it and embrace it, I offer that it's what creates the powerful life you seek. Give it a shot, you lose nothing.

The New Employee: Creative. Adaptive. Temporary. | Big Think Rather than delude ourselves with the customs of a bygone era in which employees spent entire careers with one company, more hirers and hirees should come to the understanding that employment is one stop on a longer journey.

We are all highly curious as children and slowly but surely we lose this wonderment when our egos develop.

When we encounter adversity we make up stories about how curiousness equals lack of knowledge. And we don't want to appear dumb! So we stop asking questions.

But being curious feeds our brains, spurs creativity and it keeps us humble and social.
We like curious people. We like being asked questions.

Being that I'm a leadership coach, I'm quite interested in what future leaders are saying today, and so I follow the primary debates. As such, I came out of my slumber during this weeks side show, when Ms. Fiorina, about half way through, led a response with

“Leadership means unlocking the potential of others.”

So I googled the line to find out more about her “talking points” on the subject and this article came up. It's obvious she has studied under my mentors and one can see how it has affected who she is BEING as a candidate.

I'm not a conservative, nor do I pretend to support her leadership track record. However, I recognize her accomplishment as a woman in the male world of C-Suite Leadership. Again, I don't support her conservative views on many issues and still she stands out to me as Being a Leader.
