Happy “Donny Hathaway Day!” 🖤 The incredible and iconic late great Donny Hathaway was born on October 1st 1945. Donny’s voice was so strong and his music so sincere, you can literally just feel every single word that he sings… Enjoy!!! I can't believe I started my "Milk Crate" remix journey nearly two years ago. It's a series where I rework some of my all time favorite Disco, Dance and Soul records, tunes that I played and collected way back when I was a young teenager in the early 1980's.

I remember seeing the older DJ's carry their records in bright red and blue Milk Crates. Back then my friends and I would find our crates in alleys behind the grocery stores. This was before stores started selling sleek all black crates for home storage. Mine literally had Milk brand names on the side. (lol) Ahhhhhh, The good ole days.

This collection features "gems' from: Teddy P, Rick James, George Benson, GQ and more... Enjoy!!!

Big “Shout Out” to Master DJ Tony Soul (The Soul Doctor) One of the true unsung heroes in this House Music game. He's an amazing DJ, Producer, Songwriter, Vocalist and Curator all in one.

Tony Soul’s Friday night radio broadcast out of New Orleans’ 102.3FM features his incredible curation and I have had the honor and privilege of being his in-house DJ the past couple of years or so. The Brother has brought in some heavy hitters every week it seems.

I’ve been telling people around me that New Orleans aka “N’Awlins” has got next as far as this House thing is concerned and Mr. Tony Soul will be a big reason why… Salute! 🫡

"The Choice is Yours" (Spivey's 7 Train Flip), by DJ Spivey track by DJ Spivey

"The Choice is Yours" was a huge Hip-Hop record way back in 1991 by the funky group Black Sheep. They sampled Johnny Hammond Smith and created this catchy anthem full of energy. I was living in Atlanta at the time and we would literally play this at house parties and try to break the floor on the "engine engine number 9" part. Enjoy...

What more can be said about the legendary Chaka Khan. I have been in love with her singing voice since I was a young kid. I love the way she takes her songs to "The Bridge" she does it like no other. I've been remixing her stuff for a few years now and her songs sound so good on the dance floor. This package two of my unreleased edits until now: "Any Love" and "I'm Every Woman." Enjoy...
