🌴Life is best lived outdoors🌴

Jeff Corwin, Steve Irwin, David Attenborough, Jeremy Wade, Jane Goodall, and many others helped shape this generation’s interest in wildlife, ecology, conservation, and the natural world.

Because of their passion, storytelling, and dedication, countless people have been inspired to explore, appreciate, and protect the outdoors. Their work continues to influence new generations who are willing to step up and help preserve the beauty of our planet for the future.

Who was your favorite to watch and learn from growing up? 🦎🌎🐊

On a separate note, starting July 1st, I’ll be posting longer wildlife interaction and adventure videos exclusively for subscribed account members!

These videos will feature detailed information on the species encountered, the habitats they live in, and the locations explored. Some of the footage and encounters are ones you won’t want to miss.

I also plan to release field guides for some of the locations I visit, helping others explore and learn more about the wildlife around them! Let me know in the comments if this is something yall would like!

Sometimes it feels like we’re witnessing a strange trade.

we’ve traded sunsets for screens.
birdsong for notifications.
adventure for algorithms.

while we’re busy scrolling, entire worlds are disappearing around us. wetlands are being drained, coral reefs are struggling, wildlife populations are declining, and fewer people seem to notice because we’re looking down instead of looking around.

the tragedy isn’t just what we’re losing. it’s that many people will never realize it was there in the first place.

one day, our children and grandchildren may ask what it was like to see sea turtles nesting on quiet beaches, flocks of birds filling the sky, or healthy reefs teeming with life. i hope those stories do not become memories of things we allowed to vanish while we were distracted.

when was the last time you put your phone away and spent an hour outside with no agenda, no headphones, and no screen?

what did you notice?

i have a feeling the answers will say a lot about where we’re headed. 🌎🌿🐢🦅

People often forget that animals die in nature every day. That reality doesn’t make conservation any less important.

My goal has always been conservation through education. While content like this may not be especially educational on its own, it helps reach people who might not otherwise engage with wildlife and environmental issues. If capturing attention creates an opportunity to inspire appreciation for nature and the need to protect it, then it has served its purpose.

And for the indoorsmen already in the comments, what was the alternative? Send it downstream with a little soy sauce?

What’s one animal that completely changed the way you see nature after learning more about it?

For me, the more time I spend around reptiles(And snakes in particular hehe), the more I realize how misunderstood they are. People often see them as simple or dangerous, but there’s an incredible amount of complexity in their behavior and adaptations.

I’m curious. What’s an animal you used to overlook, fear, or misunderstand that you’ve come to appreciate?

Taking a moment today to thank and to think about the men and women who gave everything for this country. Because of them, we get to live free. We get to chase sunsets, explore the wild, hear the waves, watch eagles fly, and call this land home. Some never made it back to their families. Some paid the ultimate price so the rest of us could have a future.
Today is for them.
Thank you to every fallen service member, and to all who have fought for our country.
We remember you. 🇺🇸

Did you know…
Mahi Mahi, also known as dorado or dolphinfish depending on the country, are considered one of the most sustainable pelagic protein sources in the ocean? They grow extremely fast, often reaching over 30 pounds in their first year, reach sexual maturity in only about 4 to 5 months, and reproduce frequently throughout the year. A single female can release hundreds of thousands to over a million eggs in a spawning season, although only a tiny fraction of fry survive to adulthood, often estimated at far less than 1 percent in the open ocean. Mahi are also aggressive predators that consume roughly 5 to 10 percent of their body weight daily, fueling their rapid growth and short life cycle.
