FLOTSAM is LIVE on Vimeo!
Come with us on a journey into the Miami wilderness. Beyond the glitz and glamor of South Beach lies a fishing ground where legends are born and anything can happen.
Battling storms, capsizing, and himself, David Gauzens paddles his kayak miles into open water and learns along the way that oftentimes, less is more.
So go ahead and get lost for a few minutes. You never know what you may find.
Bringing a film through the festival circuit is no easy task. Add in Covid and it’s nearly impossible. But Kjell made it happen and brought the spirit of FLOTSAM to audiences around the country.
And hey, we even won some things!

In documentary filmmaking, the story is never written beforehand; it evolves right in front of your eyes and your coverage has to adapt to it.
While tracking giant anteaters in Guyana with biologist and South Rupununi Conservation Society member Erin Earl, we experienced a story so special, we knew we had to put our all into making a film to share it.
We’re in the final stages of editing now and can’t wait for you to experience the magic of the Rupununi!
GIANTS of the SAVANNAH is officially COMING SOON!

Josh recounts an encounter with one of the ocean’s most misunderstood creatures off the coast of Florida.
Behind-the-scenes photo by Liv Williamson
“I slid off the stern of the boat and entered the warm, eternal blue water off the coast of Jupiter, Florida.
A soft shadow emerged in the distance, cautious of this new visitor. The fish could sense my heartbeat - I knew I must remain calm and fully present if I hoped to create a photograph worthy of communicating its elegance.
The contours of its body are confident; its power is portrayed even in the shadows. The dusky shark glided effortlessly closer, closer.
As we made eye contact, I clicked the shutter, and slowly exhaled the one breath I took with me from above the thin blue line.
Sometimes all it takes is one breath to better understand those that reside in the shadows”
