The former official Facebook Fan Page of Stephanie Hudson, Ian Andrewes, Evan Aras, and Dalton Tebo' We are your team to follow, support and love.

With such a new and modern class of boat introduced for the 2016 Olympic Games, a young, strong and forward thinking team is what's required to learn and dominate. We are competing in every major event and training everyday whether it's on the water or off because there is nothing that we want more and there is nothing that will stand in our way. We are America's team, we are your team, we are Odyssey Racing.

As many of you know by now, we did not reach our goal of qualifying as the US Nacra 17 for the 2016 Olympics. That said, we have had many successes since embarking on our journey two years ago. We started as absolute newbies to the Nacra 17 class and the world of Olympic campaigns and leave with unquantifiable knowledge, unforgettable friends, and entirely unique memories.

In addition, two members of Odyssey Racing - Ian Andrewes and Evan Aras - will be coaching in Rio this August. Since parting with Odyssey Racing in the fall of 2014, Ian has been coaching the Canadian Nacra 17 team of Nikola Girke / Luke Ramsay - One Team, One Dream. This January they were successful in securing the bid for Canada in Rio, and we wish them all the success in the coming months. Evan went on from Odyssey Racing to coach the successful US 49er bid of Barrows Morris Olympic Campaign. I urge everyone to follow these two amazing teams and their coaches as they continue their push towards success in Rio.

I would like to thank everyone again for your continued support throughout our highs and lows over the past two years. By liking our page here, buying a tech tee or fleece, and donating to our campaign through the Sailing Foundation of New York you have become a part of Odyssey Racing and a part of the success we have had along the way.

As Vince Lombardi said, "We didn't lose the game, we just ran out of time." We feel this sentiment holds true to the great strides we were able to make over two years.

If anyone would like more insight into what campaigning has been like, you can read my article titled "The Realities of an Olympic Campaign" in the most recent edition of ILYA Scowslants.
The article spans pages 14-15 here: https://indd.adobe.com/view/fd076865-44ce-43cd-b282-70a3d3cb66bb

And finally, as our bid for 2016 has now come to a close, it is time to put the 123 and 269 up for sale. If you or anyone you know may be interested in a well maintained Nacra 17, please let me know - I currently have two of them!

All the best,

Stephanie Hudson

For high speed water impact protection, there's no better choice than Forward WIP. They're leading the field in high speed sailing safety, and additionally helping keep us warm here in chilly Clearwater.

2016 Nacra 17 Worlds 02/10/2016

While we didn't make it to the finish line yesterday, we were happy with our speed until we went over. A bit less breeze forecasted for today (high teens, gusts in low 20's), and we're ready to make up for the ground that we lost yesterday.

Hi everyone!
We are now just over half way through our first event of the US Olympic trials, doing what we can to keep posting solid scores in very tricky conditions. With the score board all over the place we were happy that today we were able to finally stay consistent and posted four keepers.
After seeing the sun set on our way off of the water on the first two days due to postponements and variable conditions, we were very happy with how efficient the race committee was today and they put on great races in a short amount of time. Tomorrow we're switching to morning starts, with the first gun at 10AM.

Check out the results from the first 9 races here: http://www.sailing.org/worldcup/results/?rgtaid=18785&evntid=36377&view=fleetevent&includeref=regattaresults23235

Yesterday we were able to squeeze in 5 races in very variable conditions. We had trouble getting in the groove in the first few races of the day, but once we got our stride with speed and height everything started to come together. This week we're going back to the basics and just making the boat go fast. With less than a week to go until part 1 of the US trials, we are happy with where we stood this weekend and know how we need to improve. It's go time!

Not enough wind yesterday, and too much today! We completed one race yesterday in light winds and the second race was abandoned after the first lap. Very tricky conditions in light air with a lot of motor boat chop, so that was great practice on keeping up momentum and not getting frustrated! Today we are postponed again while we wait for the wind to settle down.

Our first event down here in Miami, should be a good warm up for the Miami World Cup!! Keep you posted on how it goes today. Light breeze 2-5

Hey everybody, great news!!! The US now officially has a slot in the 2016 Olympic Games for the Nacra 17 class. Next step: we qualify for that spot. If you didn't know, our trial events for the US slot are the Miami World Cup the last week of January and the 2016 World Championship in Clearwater, FL the second week of February. The team with the lowest combined finishes from the events will be selected to represent the United States in Rio de Janeiro. We need your help to be that team though.

Yesterday the coach boat we had lined up fell through, and now we have a coach, but no way to have him help us! If you or anyone you know has a powerboat in or near Florida (or really anywhere in the States at this point), we are in search of a boat for the month of January and first two weeks of February. ANY leads are greatly appreciated. Help us be the team to represent the United States next summer!

If you have any ideas for us, please comment or email us at [email protected]

Thank you all for your continued support, we could not have gotten this far without you.
