🦷 Myth: If your gums bleed, you should stop flossing.
❌ False.
Bleeding gums are often a sign that your gums are inflamed due to plaque and bacteria build-up — not a sign that you should stop cleaning between your teeth.
In many cases, consistent and gentle flossing can actually help improve gum health over time.
Flossing helps:
✨ Remove plaque where your toothbrush can't reach
✨ Reduce bacteria along the gumline
✨ Support healthier gums
✨ Lower the risk of gum disease and cavities
If you've recently started flossing or haven't flossed regularly, mild bleeding may occur at first. As your gums become healthier, the bleeding often improves.
⚠️ However, if bleeding continues or becomes severe, it's important to speak with your dentist.
Healthy gums don't usually bleed.
Keep flossing gently. Your gums will thank you for it 💙

😰 Did you know stress can affect more than just your mood?
Your oral health can be impacted too.
When stress levels rise, you may be more likely to:
😬 Grind or clench your teeth
🦷 Experience jaw pain or tooth sensitivity
💧 Suffer from dry mouth
🩸 Develop gum problems
🪥 Neglect healthy oral care habits
Over time, these issues can increase your risk of tooth wear, cavities, and gum disease.
The good news? Taking care of your overall wellbeing can help protect your smile too.
✨ Stay hydrated
✨ Prioritise quality sleep
✨ Manage stress where possible
✨ Keep up with daily brushing and flossing
✨ Attend regular dental check-ups

🦷 Do cold drinks, hot coffee, or sweet treats make you wince?
You're not alone. Tooth sensitivity is a common problem that can affect everyday activities like eating, drinking, and even brushing your teeth.
Sensitive teeth can be caused by:
❄️ Worn enamel
🦷 Receding gums
😬 Teeth grinding
⚡ Cracked or damaged teeth
While sensitivity might seem like a minor annoyance, it can sometimes be a sign of an underlying dental issue that shouldn't be ignored.
The good news? There are ways to help:
✔️ Use toothpaste designed for sensitive teeth
✔️ Choose a soft-bristled toothbrush
✔️ Avoid brushing too hard
✔️ Keep up with regular dental check-ups
If your sensitivity is persistent or getting worse, it's worth having it checked by your dentist.
💙 Healthy, comfortable smiles start with understanding the cause.

🦷 Myth: “Sugar is the only cause of cavities.”
❌ Not quite.
While sugar is a major factor, it’s not the only thing that can lead to tooth decay.
Foods like:
🍞 Bread
🍝 Pasta
🥔 Crisps
🥤 Acidic drinks
can also contribute to cavities.
Why?
Because carbohydrates break down into sugars in your mouth, feeding harmful bacteria that produce acids attacking your enamel.
Acidic foods and drinks can also weaken enamel over time, making teeth more vulnerable to decay.
The good news? Small habits can make a BIG difference:
✨ Brush twice daily
✨ Floss regularly
✨ Drink more water
✨ Limit frequent snacking
✨ Keep up with regular dental visits
It’s not just about what you eat — it’s also about how often your teeth are exposed to acids and sugars throughout the day.
Healthy habits = stronger teeth and healthier smiles 💙

🦷 Brushing alone only cleans about 60% of your tooth surfaces…
That’s where flossing comes in ✨
Flossing helps remove plaque, bacteria, and food particles from the areas your toothbrush simply can’t reach — especially between teeth and along the gumline.
The key? Technique matters.
✔️ Be gentle
✔️ Use enough floss
✔️ Curve around each tooth in a “C” shape
✔️ Clean both sides of every tooth
✔️ Use a fresh section as you go
Daily flossing can help:
✨ Prevent cavities
✨ Reduce gum inflammation
✨ Fight bad breath
✨ Support healthier gums
✨ Keep your smile cleaner and brighter
It only takes a few minutes a day, but it can make a BIG difference to your long-term oral health.
Small habit. Big impact 💙

🦷 What you eat plays a HUGE role in your oral health.
Some foods don’t just benefit your body — they actively help protect your teeth and gums too ✨
The best foods for a healthier smile include:
🍎 Crunchy fruits & vegetables
🧀 Calcium-rich dairy products
🥬 Leafy greens
🥜 Nuts
🐟 Fatty fish
🍵 Green tea
These foods can help:
✔️ Strengthen enamel
✔️ Wash away plaque naturally
✔️ Stimulate saliva production
✔️ Reduce acid and bacteria
✔️ Support healthier gums
A healthy smile starts with healthy habits — and that includes what’s on your plate.
Because good oral health isn’t just about brushing… it’s also about fueling your smile the right way 💙
