Miami Workers Center
We build power with working-class tenants, workers, women, and families in Miami-Dade County.

Everyone has something to offer and everyone has things that they need.
The work of giving, receiving, and coordinating care for one another is what strengthens our communities, and builds our resilience to organize and win the resources people deserve to live healthy, full lives.
Through our Women’s Circle and Sisters in Struggle mutual aid program, members like Nadirah are developing their capacity to lead and care for their neighbors. When we come together, we see that none of us are alone, and our courage to fight for what’s right becomes greater than the fear that keeps us from a better life.
This Give Miami Day, we invite you to pour into the grassroots leaders who show up daily to make our communities safer and stronger, and inspire us to keep up the fight.

“It was here that I became a leader.”
Gloria first joined the Miami Workers Center 5 years ago, unaware of the rights she had on the job as a house cleaner. Since then, she’s educated herself and hundreds of other domestic workers in Miami about their right to safety and dignity as workers and tenants.
Through MWC’s organizing fellowships and training, Gloria has led campaigns, canvassing efforts, know your rights workshops, and this year she was elected by MWC membership body to represent them on our Board of Directors.
Gloria’s story and journey of leadership is a testament to the grassroots power we’re building at MWC.
