The automaker has been slow to embrace electric vehicles but plans to produce 3.5 million of them annually by 2030.

Toyota’s gigacasting process involves pouring molten aluminum into a mold, forming a single piece that comprises the entire rear third of a vehicle chassis. This innovation significantly reduces the number of parts and assembly time.

Toyota aims for 20% higher productivity compared to competitors with this technology, employing it for forthcoming electric vehicle models.
