Facebook key board warriors I need ideas. Cause I’m stumped. And have worked on this thing for going on 11 hours today for nothing to change.
Last weeks problem was accell pumps weren’t working. Fixed those this week and that’s it.
Today’s Problem - pushed car out of trailer this morning at 42 fired it and the idle surges. 1100 to 1700 hundred and on the downhill of the surge comes to like 8-900 try’s dying. Can be feathered up to keep it runnning but it’s not happy about it. And will continue to surge. Almost like a blower surge but less cool cause it doesn’t have a blower.
What I’ve done today in order all 1 at a time to see if it changed anything
1- pulled carb apart cleaned everything
2- checked plugs and ran valves
3-changed top grid box
4- bottom grid box
5- coil
6- brand new bottom grid box takes s**t loses spark puts my old one back on
7- crank trigger pick up
8- pulled intake to change intake gaskets found what appeared to be a small leak. Got it back together and absolutely 0 change
9- cleaned carb a second time for s**ts and gigggles. Nothing
Side note cap and rotor have been checked somewhere in that order but literally have 6 runs on them.
All 4 magnets are on the crank trigger still
All the gauge readings check out normal. Oil pressure, fuel pressure, vacuum, everything. Somebody tell me what the f**k I’m missing

Cheap fix

This is all too common of a failure on the Ford DPS6 PowerShift transmissions causing missed shifts. As long as the clutch forks are not sticking (test spin them counterclockwise 10 turns to wind them up and release, it should spin back clockwise) you just need new actuator motors for DTC P07A3 P07A5 and down the road it goes! Of course I always clean the ground points and reflash the TCM for a more complete repair. Ford Motor Company

Oil filter is stuck solid and I'm running out of options...
Cap wrench slipped, strap wrench won't fit in the space, and the claw wrench crushed the can so now it can't even grip it...
Tried it cold, then warm with **WD-40** even gave the wrench a tap with a hammer no movement at all…
Before I risk rupturing it, does anyone have a better method, or should I just take it to a shop and let a tech handle it?… 🤔🚗

I have had this 1966 396 motor for over 20 years and it has always leaked at the rear seal. My question is has anyone ever seen a crankshaft that is not a true diameter all the way to the fl**ge. I do know why it leaks ( the rear main seal is on casting)
Thanks
