❔Did you know Serapi rugs are a distinct Heriz region style, with finer knotting & more large-scale, spaciously placed designs. In fact it’s not always possible to tell the difference between a Heriz & Serapi with a casual glance. One way to tell the difference is by turning the rug over & checking the underside visually. Serapi rugs have very smooth undersides. Serapis have historically been the carpet of choice in early American buildings, including the White House!
