The world baseball classic in Miami this week was amazing! I came to support Nicaragua of course, and although we didn’t win a game, I was so proud to see all my people show up and stay until the very last pitch at every game, cheering on our team and showing love to the players from Nicaragua that left it all on the field. Just getting here is such a big deal for us and we have done it so many times before. One day we will win it all. The great Nicaraguan poet Ruben Dario once said “ Si la patria es pequeña uno grande, la sueña”. That means even if your country is small. One dreams or thinks of it being huge. I think everyone in Miami saw the heart that we have, and we gained so much respect from every other country. It was evident in the way they hugged us, congratulated us, dances with us, gave us high fives and even teams like the Dominican Republic who said they would win for us. I’m so grateful and blessed to be able to watch Nicaragua in this game of baseball that I love so much. 🇳🇮🙏🏼🧢⚾️
