This is Good Friday. We will never be able to ascertain the pain and agony Jesus endured on this day. No movie could ever fully depict the atrocity of the cross and of what He went through. No sermon could ever bring us to the full realization of all Jesus did for us. Yet, He did it willingly. He did it out of such a deep heart of love for humanity that went far beyond the level of pain He had to endure for each of us. Out of all the words uttered by Jesus at the cross, the greatest words were “It is Finished”. At that moment the work of redemption was done. The sin of humanity was atoned for. The deliverance of every captive was purchased. The love of God was complete because Jesus had finished what He came to do. Take some time today to thank God for the finished work of Jesus at the cross. Bask in the joy of your salvation and the fact you are completely redeemed. The price has been paid – there is nothing you need to do except receive what Jesus has done. Ask Him. Live in the joy of that freedom today because truly…it is finished!
