WDNA is pleased to host a very special event exclusively for our VIP members. The evening will include a performance by renowned vibraphonist and harmonica virtuoso Hendrik Meurkens and dinner served by Old Lisbon restaurant.

Hendrik Meurkens leads his Samba Jazz Quartet to celebrate his new album Samba Tonto that has topped the jazz charts for several weeks. His unique version of Brazilian jazz has long been praised by critics and musicians alike.

Considered the first major new voice on the harmonica since T***s Thielemans, Meurkens has recorded and performed with Ray Brown, Paquito D’Rivera, Oscar Castro-Neves, Herbie Mann, Charlie Byrd, Ivan Lins, Monty Alexander, Manfredo Fest, Dori Caymmi, Toninho Horta, Joyce, Astrud Gilberto, Roberto Menescal, Antonio Adolfo, and many others. Meurkens will be joined by Mike Eckroth on piano, Jamie Ousley on bass and Ludwig Afonso on drums

The FIU Jazz Factet is the performing ensemble of the FIU Herbert and Nicole Wertheim School of Music and Performing arts Jazz Faculty. Their award-winning CD, "The FIU Jazz Factet features the Music of Gary Campbell," is available on all platforms.
