“The science of vertical flight”, Leonardo’s new educational initiative

Spreading scientific culture in schools, to support the construction of younger generations’ future. This is the aim of the new webinar cycle launched by Leonardo as part of STEMLab, the programme focused on STEM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and technological innovation, designed to promote scientific citizenship and the transfer of knowledge from workplace to school.

One of the Italian Army’s new AW249 exploration and es**rt helicopters participated for the first time in an operational exercise, Stella Alpina 2024, held on 18 September at Lake Fedaia (Trento, Italy). The rotorcraft is a pre-production model currently involved in AW249 programme development activities.

Under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), Leonardo is involved in the Metallic Additive Manufacturing for High Performances (MAM4HP) research programme, financed by the European Union through the NextGenerationEU funds. The project focuses on the development of some mechanical components of transmission systems produced by Additive Manufacturing .
