Our weekends are usually spent at some park where I can sit under a tree with my book while the boys go mountain biking. This past weekend, we changed things up a bit. Since I recently purchased some knee and elbow pads for my rollerblades, I decided to put on my big-girl panties and give it one more shot.

Did you know I’m not a fan of mountain biking? Not because it isn’t fun—it really is—but because I’ve busted my a** one too many times, and I’m a little too old to start breaking bones.

Now listen, I may not love the sport, but being out there capturing these images and seeing the pure joy on their faces made it worth the effort. And on the plus side… I didn’t fall this time!!!! 😂

For me, it’s been reading again. (20 so far this year 😊)
Singing again.
Rollerblading again.
Moving my body in ways that feel fun instead of forced.

And honestly? It’s been healing in the quietest way.

So here’s your reminder:
Pick something back up.
Even if you’re rusty.
Even if it feels silly.
Even if it’s been years.

Joy counts too.

I was asked to create these columns for a school spelling bee (this is actually the second year they’ve called me!) and I love how colorful and fun they turned out.

I don’t promote this much, but I do offer simple balloon setups for schools and small events when I have availability.

A year ago, I got the phoenix.
It marked my rebirth… the beginning of healing, growth, and learning to choose myself.

Today, my daughter surprised me with 11:11.

Alignment.
Awareness.
New chapter.

It felt like a quiet confirmation…
that the hard work, the healing, and the growth are leading me exactly where I need to be.

This is my daily reminder…
to stay aware,
to trust my alignment,
and to keep stepping forward into this new chapter.

The phoenix was the start.
11:11 is the continuation.

Yesterday was one of those days.

The kind where everything feels heavy…
where nothing goes right…
where you end up crying, overwhelmed, and just completely off.

At one point I made a full cup of coffee and forgot to even put the cup under the machine… that should tell you everything 😅

And earlier this week, I had another moment like that too.

Old me would’ve pushed through it.
Ignored it.
Told myself to “get it together.”

But I’m learning something different now.

I’m learning to give myself grace.

To feel what I need to feel…
to sit in it without guilt…
and then slowly find my way back.

Not every day is going to be a good day.
But not every hard day gets to define you either.

So if you’re in a season like that too…
this is your reminder to be a little gentler with yourself.

We bounce back. Always.
