Techo - U.S.
TECHO (teh-choh) works in informal settlements to create a just society without poverty.
Every TECHO believes that all people can be empowered to fully exercise their rights and duties and have the opportunity to develop their capacities. We are convinced that poverty can be permanently eradicated if society as a whole recognizes poverty as a priority and actively works towards overcoming it.

The biggest matches always teach the same lesson:
no one wins alone.
Behind every victory is a team that trusts, organizes, and works together. At TECHO, we believe in playing the same way.
Communities, volunteers, companies, and partners joining forces to overcome poverty and build safe, dignified homes.
Because every win is a team effort.
And being champions means making sure everyone has a place to call home. 🏠 ⚽️
Entire nations dream of lifting the trophy.
But beyond the game, the true win is ensuring that everyone has a safe and dignified place to call home.

Beating poverty takes more than a single star.
It takes strategy, commitment, and a team willing to play as one. On our team, you’ll find volunteers, community members, corporate partners, and people who believe no one should have to live without a safe and dignified home. ⚽️🥅

This , we want to talk about Climate Justice.
Families living in informal settlements are among those most affected by the climate crisis, often facing its harshest consequences due to a lack of adequate infrastructure.
In the face of this reality, we refuse to stand by. We believe the most urgent climate action starts within communities. That’s why we work together to co-design resilient housing solutions that can adapt to changing conditions and help protect the lives of the families who call them home.
Caring for the environment means, first and foremost, ensuring that no one has to face climate uncertainty while living on a dirt floor. 🏡✊🏽

As Youth Change Makers, we believe real change starts by listening, learning, and building alongside communities. 🏠
When the energy of young people joins the strength of local residents, cities can transform for good.
Let’s keep building this story together.❤️🩹🙌🏼

Four walls and a solid roof. It may seem basic, but for millions of families across Latin America and the Caribbean, it is the starting point for a more just future.
Yesica’s new home represents leaving behind the vulnerability of dirt floors and makeshift walls. It transforms the health, safety, and opportunities of an entire family. 🏠💙
Thank you to every neighbor and volunteer who contributed their time, effort, and heart to be part of this change. ❤️🩹

A dignified home is the first step toward fighting inequality. 🔨
A safe home transforms uncertainty into stability.
No one chooses where they are born, but everyone deserves a safe place from which to move forward. 🏠⭐️
What happens when young people step out of the classroom and into a completely different reality?
Something bigger than a trip begins.
Together with Columbus High School, through our US Volunteer Program Youth Change Makers, this experience in Costa Rica became more than the construction of a home. It became a space for connection, perspective, and transformation in both directions. 🏠🤝
Building the next generation of change-makers. 💙

Pablo Landi believed deeply in the power of community, generosity, and human connection. For over a decade, he and his family walked alongside TECHO with a deep commitment to families living in situation of poverty across Latin America, leaving a lasting mark on our community.
We send our heartfelt condolences to his wife Amy, their children Tiago, Francesca, and Mateo, and all who loved him. In honor of Pablo’s life and legacy, his family has chosen to continue supporting the mission he cared so deeply about through this memorial fundraiser.
We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to honor his memory and continue his impact through the link in our bio.
What does turning on a tap mean to you? 💧
On this World Hand Hygiene Day, we remember that access to water is the first line of defense against disease. 🧼
Zenón’s story in Peru reminds us why we work alongside families every day: so that washing hands is not a privilege, but a safe, everyday reality for thousands of families living in settlements across the region. 🤝✨
