Mini-review - We All Rise: The Beginning of the End (2026)

US band We All Rise are out with the album "The Beginning of the End", and metal is the style explored on this production. It is a more contemporary and also energetic variety of the form we get here, with a take on the form that mix and blend elements from several traditions. We do get some nice and chugging and occasionally also uptempo thrash metal escapades here, but also slower paced, pulsating traditional heavy metal with an occasional subtle undercurrent of southern rock inspired impulses. More technical passages defined by intricate instrument details is a part of the picture too, and circulating movements with a built-in groove element as well as captivating riff and rhythm patterns that explore a groove element with more of a hook and feel to them. In between this we also get harder, tighter and more aggressive escapades with more of a staccato feel to them, indicating that the hardcore tradition is a bit of a presence here too. With the aggressive, shouted style lead vocals obviously emphasizing this aspect of the band's overall expression. An album to seek out by those who enjoy a more distinctly captivating and appealing energetic blend of heavy metal, hardcore and thrash metal.

After a last minute cancellation of the show this past Saturday we are posting album reviews here once again. This week Jason checked out We All Rise- The Beginning Of The End.

Members:
Gery Grey : Vocals
Choupah Brutality : Drums
Joel Von Schlamauss : Bass
XIII : Guitars

This is the Miami, FL based band's debut album. 10 songs and 33:49 in length. If you are looking for some heavy hitting drums, ferocious guitars and vocals in the realm of Max Cavalera then this album is for you. We have came across some amazing guitarists in the last year or so and we can throw XIII in that conversation. Some awesome lead ins and out of this world solos to satisfy that riff lover. Drumming is excellent. Sets the tone and gives a little window for the other instruments to be showcased. Vocally Gery has that perfect metal tone for the musical composition. He has that slight guttural and raw bark with a hint of growl. He seems to have some decent range as well. The bass can be heard throughout, I for sure heard a fretless tone at the end of "Mechanical". They did not detour from aggression from start to finish. This has been added to one my favorites of the year thus far. I am giving this one 🤘🤘🤘🤘☝️(4.5 horns out of 5).
