Did you know that CPR is only one part of the Chain of Survival?
While CPR helps keep blood and oxygen flowing, the best chance of survival comes from combining several lifesaving steps:
✅ Recognize the emergency and call 911
✅ Start CPR immediately
✅ Use an AED as soon as it's available
✅ Allow EMS to provide advanced care
Each step plays a critical role. The faster these actions happen, the better the chance of survival.
Want to be prepared for a real emergency? Contact Save-A-Beat today to schedule CPR, AED, and First Aid training.

You're never too young to start learning lifesaving skills. Children can learn how to recognize an emergency, call 911, and find an AED, while older kids and teens can begin learning CPR techniques.
Teaching CPR early builds confidence and prepares the next generation to save lives.
Give your family or students the skills to make a difference. Contact Save-A-Beat to learn more about CPR training.

Emergencies involving children can happen without warning—from choking and breathing problems to drowning or sudden cardiac arrest. CPR training helps parents respond quickly instead of freezing while waiting for emergency services.
Parents can learn how to:
✅ Recognize when a child or infant needs CPR
✅ Call 911 and begin care immediately
✅ Perform age-appropriate chest compressions and rescue breaths
✅ Respond to choking
✅ Use an AED safely
CPR does not replace professional medical care, but it can help maintain blood flow and oxygen until help arrives. The American Heart Association offers pediatric CPR training specifically for parents, families, and caregivers.
Be prepared to protect the people who depend on you. Contact Save-A-Beat to schedule CPR, AED, and First Aid training.

How does CPR help keep oxygen flowing to the brain?
During cardiac arrest, the heart suddenly stops pumping blood effectively. Without circulation, the brain and other vital organs are quickly deprived of oxygen.
Chest compressions act like a temporary pump. Each compression helps move oxygen-containing blood through the body and toward the brain until an AED and emergency medical care are available. Keeping pauses as short as possible is important because blood flow drops quickly whenever compressions stop.
If someone is unresponsive and not breathing normally:
✅ Call 911
✅ Start chest compressions
✅ Push hard and fast in the center of the chest
✅ Use an AED as soon as possible
✅ Continue until help arrives
Early CPR can help protect the brain and improve the person’s chance of survival. Be prepared to act—contact Save-A-Beat to schedule CPR and AED training.

When should you call 911 instead of driving to the ER?
If someone's life may be in danger, call 911 immediately. Paramedics can begin treatment on the way to the hospital, which can save valuable time.
Call 911 if someone has:
🚨 Chest pain or signs of a heart attack
🚨 Stroke symptoms (Face drooping, Arm weakness, Speech difficulty)
🚨 Severe trouble breathing or choking
🚨 Unresponsiveness or cardiac arrest
🚨 Severe bleeding that won't stop
🚨 A seizure, severe allergic reaction, or serious head injury
When in doubt, call 911. Getting emergency care started as soon as possible can make all the difference.

What belongs in every first aid kit? 🩹
A well-stocked first aid kit can help you respond quickly to common injuries while waiting for professional medical care. Whether it is kept at home, in the workplace, at school, or in your vehicle, it should include essential supplies such as:
✅ Adhesive bandages in different sizes
✅ Sterile gauze pads and medical tape
✅ Antiseptic wipes
✅ Disposable gloves
✅ Antibiotic ointment
✅ Scissors and tweezers
✅ Instant cold packs
✅ Elastic bandages
✅ Burn dressings or burn gel
✅ A CPR face shield or breathing barrier
✅ Emergency contact information and a basic first aid guide
Remember to check your kit regularly. Replace expired products, restock used items, and make sure everyone knows where the kit is stored.
A first aid kit is only one part of emergency preparedness. Knowing how to use the supplies correctly is just as important.

Can CPR break someone’s ribs? Yes—but don’t let that stop you from helping.
During CPR, chest compressions must be firm and deep enough to help circulate blood to the brain and other vital organs. Because of the pressure required, rib or chest injuries can sometimes happen—especially in older adults.
But remember: a broken rib can heal. Cardiac arrest cannot wait.
When a person is unresponsive and not breathing normally:
✅ Call 911
✅ Begin chest compressions in the center of the chest
✅ Push hard and fast at a rate of 100–120 compressions per minute
✅ Use an AED as soon as one is available
✅ Continue until help arrives or the person begins breathing normally
Do not stop simply because you hear or feel a cracking sound. Continuing high-quality CPR may give that person their best chance of survival. Immediate CPR can double or even triple the chance of surviving cardiac arrest.
Would you feel confident performing CPR during a real emergency? Save-A-Beat can help you gain the knowledge and hands-on skills to respond when every second counts. Contact us today to schedule CPR and AED training.

How Chest Compressions Keep Someone Alive
During cardiac arrest, the heart stops pumping enough blood to the brain and other vital organs. Chest compressions temporarily take over that job by keeping oxygen-rich blood circulating throughout the body.
For CPR to be effective:
❤️ Push hard and fast in the center of the chest.
❤️ Aim for 100–120 compressions per minute.
❤️ Allow the chest to fully rise between compressions.
❤️ Minimize interruptions until an AED or emergency responders arrive.
CPR doesn't usually restart the heart on its own—but it can keep someone alive until advanced medical care is available.
