The fit is cute, but my peace is prettier.

Earlier this week, I had the incredible honor of representing the University of Miami on the 2026 ACC Unity Tour in Washington, D.C., alongside student-athletes, coaches, and leaders from across the conference.

Through visits to historic institutions, discussions on the evolving future of collegiate sports, and hands-on community engagement, I gained a deeper appreciation for how history, leadership, and service intersect with the platform we hold as student-athletes.

Some highlights included visiting the National Archives to see the original Bill of Rights, exploring exhibits like “Slavery in a Democracy,” and stepping into the U.S. Supreme Court and the halls of the Capitol sitting in on sessions in the House and Senate. As a Nigerian, it was especially powerful and fascinating to immerse myself in the history, government, and political landscape of the United States.

We also had the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions about the future of collegiate sports, which really emphasized the importance of using our platforms to advocate for issues that matter.

Giving back was at the heart of this tour, Participating in community service with SOUL Programs at H.D. Woodson High School and connecting with athletes from other schools showed me just how much impact we can have when we bridge divides and connect through service.

Most importantly, I am grateful for the genuine connections, conversations built with fellow student-athletes from across the country.

A huge thank you to Miami Athletics, the ACC, and for making this unforgettable journey possible. I am incredibly proud to have represented the U!
