Tax Genie
We are a tax preparation company that offers in-person appointments and virtual filing as well. We strive to make the process easy and stress free.
Our goal is to not only help you get the maximum refund, but also help you understand your tax return.
Extension Deadline Reminder šØ
If youāre getting a refund, the April 15 deadline does NOT apply to you ā no penalties, no rush. You can file after the deadline without any issues.
Extensions are only for those who owe taxes. An extension gives you more time to file, NOT more time to pay.
š° If you owe, your estimated tax payment is still due by April 15 to avoid penalties and interest.
Short and simple:
⢠Refund = no deadline stress āØ
⢠Owe = file extension if needed, but pay by April 15 ā³
Welcome to our new office. Welcome to Tax Genie.

Letās talk 1099-Ks!
A lot of people are waiting to file because they think a 1099 is coming.
Hereās where the confusion is:
If you were paid through a third-party processor (Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, Stripe, etc.), you only receive a 1099-K if you hit BOTH:
AS TO
$20,000 in gross payments E NOT
200 transactions
Not one. Both.
If you didnāt meet both thresholds, a form may NOT be issued.
You are STILL required to report the income on your tax return even if you donāt receive a 1099.
If youāre unsure what should be reported, thatās what Iām here for āØ
Thanks to a new tax rule, some overtime pay and tips may not be subject to federal income tax. Your employer is supposed to list these amounts on your W-2 (usually in Box 14) so we can easily apply the benefit.
Donāt see it there? No stress š We can still figure it out using paystubs or payroll reports. The IRS knows this is new and has given employers and tax pros some grace while everyone adjusts. Our job is to track it down and make sure you get every dollar youāre entitled to. š°
Okay okay. TaxDome forcing me to go to sleep. š«

If someone thinks they already know something, they are less likely to be open to learning new things. It is important to approach learning with an open mind and be willing to learn new things even if you think you already know everything about a subject.
This applies to everything in life. Especially when it comes to business, money, and taxes. Keep an open mind when speaking or reading something you "think you already know". It could change your life more than you ever imagined. š°
