REFLECTIONS ๐Ÿชฉ Featured Artist Barry Lee

Barry Leeโ€™s Disruption (2025), created while recovering from Long COVID, presents a meditation on the interruption of daily rhythms. Through recurring imagery of the sun, moon, and shifting horizons, the piece visualizes the blurred experience of illness while acknowledging the crucial role of clinical trials in understanding and alleviating long-term effects. Leeโ€™s work resonates within the spirit of Pride by giving voice to personal struggle and collective perseverance, insisting on care, dignity, and representation for those navigating invisible conditions.

REFLECTIONS Featured Artist Victoria Dugger .dugger.studio

Victoria Duggerโ€™s In Full Bloom (2025) reflects on the absenceโ€”and necessityโ€”of inclusive representation in healthcare and medical research. Tender yet unruly flowers bloom within a vessel that is both protective and confining, evoking systems of care not always built for marginalized bodies. Dugger calls for expansiveness and compassion, reclaiming visibility in spaces where difference is too often overlookedโ€”an affirmation of Prideโ€™s ongoing insistence that all bodies be seen and celebrated. Her work can also be seen this season in a solo exhibition at the Hudgens Center for Art & Learning.

REFLECTIONS ๐Ÿชฉ Featured Artist Jackson Markovic

Jackson Markovicโ€™s Ode to the gay bar where I got an HIV test (2025) is a chaotic, psychedelic video composition that stitches together iPhone footage of Atlanta clubs, ballroom gatherings, and underground performances with staged scenes of friends dancing. The work honors nightlife as a site of care and public health while celebrating q***r community through dirt, glitter, and joy. Shown during Pride, it underscores the role of LGBTQ+ spaces as essential centers of resilience, intimacy, and collective healing. In addition to his kaleidoscopic commission, Marcovicโ€™s Baroque Sunbursts will be featured at Pullman Yards through the month of October (presented by Hawkins Headquarters ).
