Thank you to - I’m excited to share this news! • Introducing our newest artist to the gallery, Maria Rivans, who specialises in piecing together imagery sourced from vintage magazines, books, and other found materials to create captivating collage work that feels both nostalgic and fun to observe.

Maria is a British artist currently living in Brighton where she spends a lot of her time creating in her studio, as well as going out to find new inspiration often found in used-book stores, market stalls, and vintage shops. The imagery and themes created by the artist stem from her interest in vintage Hollywood films, mythology & legends, and current societal topics.

We will be exhibiting Maria’s work in Miami, where we can’t wait to present her latest unique works. If you would like more information on this artist click the link in our bio.

I’m so pleased to have an original collage ‘Leonora’ in Art on a Postcard’s Winter Auction which opens today! You can find my artwork as Lot 449 - with many thanks to curator for inviting me to take part.

This delicate collage is framed by an otherworldly halo of hand-cut flora and sea life, bursting with colour, fine detail, and Rivans’ trademark playfulness. At its centre, the poised face of screen legend Greta Garbo emerges — serene and enigmatic — her gaze anchoring the surreal bloom around her. The elaborate headdress, composed of coral-like botanicals and alien sea forms, reflects the tension between constructed beauty and wild nature. Exploring themes of femininity, fame, and transformation, the work offers a quiet meditation on the surreal performance of womanhood and the hidden ecologies — emotional, cultural, and environmental — that shape it.

Inspired by Jules Verne’s iconic 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, I completely immersed myself in this fantastical underwater world. The result is a richly detailed 1,000-piece puzzle that invites you to join the mysterious Captain Nemoon the submarine adventure of a lifetime.

Published by the brilliant and , this puzzle is packed with strange and beautiful sea creatures, vibrant underwater scenes, and a treasure trove of intricate details — all designed to make your puzzling journey both satisfying and visually stunning.

Maria Rivans is known for her layered imagery of vintage Hollywood; from starlets to Sci-Fi, B-movies to TV trash, Rivans’ passion for bygone cinema is palpable, infusing every piece with a life of its own. Merging Pop Art with Surrealism, Rivans uses a distinctive approach to vintage adding a touch of humour, optimism, and inspiration.
