What happens when young people are trusted to solve real problems?

At Achieve Miami Summer Shark Tank, we had the privilege of seeing that answer firsthand.

After six weeks of collaboration, research, and problem-solving, scholar teams pitched innovative solutions to real community challenges, from education technology to entrepreneurship and sustainability. Their creativity, confidence, and critical thinking were on full display.

Our Chief Strategy Officer, Carell Dorcé, served as a Shark Tank judge, asking thoughtful questions, providing feedback, and helping select the winning team.

The experience was especially meaningful because SkillBuild partners with Achieve Miami beyond this single event. Through ongoing leadership coaching, we’re working alongside members of the Achieve Miami leadership team to strengthen leadership practices, improve program quality, and build the capacity of those who serve young people every day.

Watching those scholars present their ideas was a powerful reminder that when organizations invest in developing strong leaders, young people are the ones who thrive.

Congratulations to every team that stepped up to pitch—you’ve already demonstrated the kind of leadership and innovation our communities need.
