Variegated plants have white stripes on the leaves and fruits which is the result of a genetic mutation that causes pigmentation loss. The white parts of the plant do not contain chlorophyll so they cannot photosynthesize sunlight which makes them much more difficult to grow than fully green banana plants. 🌱
