Don Mazzone, The Legend - If you weren't chewed out by Mazzone, you just weren't really chewed out. Motorcycle Officer Mazzone served Miami Springs for 34 years and was know far and wide for his tenacious ability, attitude, and ass-chewing. Throughout my photography career in the Springs, I photographed Mazzone with his gun out three times at crime scenes. He seemed to be everywhere on traffic patrol and when a call went out about a crime. He retired in 2002, and passed away in 2025. He was truly legendary. - Wally Clark
