Inspired by challenges faced after Superstorm Sandy in 2012, founder Mariya Reva-Tamburrino turned crisis into purpose. Her idea was to create rapidly deployable shelters that prioritize people’s individual needs—such as pet care and medical support—while also providing the privacy and dignity often missing from traditional shared shelters.

With a goal to collaborate with architects and experts from around the world to develop a portfolio of 20 climate-specific shelter solutions, Reva-Tamburrino partnered in 2020 with Max Borshchevskiy, a seasoned architect with more than 16 years of international experience and deep expertise in cold-climate design. Together with a team of engineers and designers, they founded REVA PROJECTS LLC.

Five years later, the team continues to design sustainable, life-improving units for people in need, including the flagship Reva Cold Shelter.
