❤️ The Old Shirt of My Father

There was a young man who grew up in a poor family. His father was a factory worker who spent more than 12 hours a day on the job, with rough, calloused hands worn down by years of hard labor.

When the young man was accepted into college, the family could barely afford the tuition. One day, he saw his father quietly taking his only watch to a pawn shop.

“Dad, what are you doing?” he asked.

His father smiled and replied,

“It’s an old watch. I don’t wear it anymore.”

Many years later, he learned the truth: that watch was the only gift his grandfather had ever left his father.

On graduation day, his father wore a faded old shirt. The young man felt embarrassed because the other parents were dressed elegantly.

But when the ceremony ended, many people walked up to his father, shook his hand, and said:

“Congratulations. You must be so proud of your son.”

For the first time, he looked closely at his father’s hands—bent and worn from years of work. His hair had turned almost completely gray.

And suddenly he understood:

His father had not grown old because of time. He had grown old because he spent his youth building a future for his child.

Years later, after his father passed away, the son was cleaning out his father’s room.

Inside the closet were only a few worn-out shirts and a small notebook.

On the last page, he found these words:

“I don’t need you to be rich or famous.
I only hope that when I am gone,
you will live a kind, healthy, and happy life.
That is enough for me.”

The son held the notebook tightly and cried.

Because at that moment, he finally understood:

A father’s love is rarely spoken.
It is hidden in the overtime hours, the meals he gives up so his children can have more, the sleepless nights worrying about their future, and the youth he quietly sacrificed without ever asking for anything in return.

“❤️Spring Restaurant” is not just the name of a restaurant. It is the name of my grandmother — the person who loved and sacrificed the most for me in my life.

When I first came to America, everything felt difficult and unfamiliar. There were days when I had no idea what my future would look like, but my grandmother was always there quietly encouraging me. She did not have much money, but she was always willing to give me the best she could.

I still remember the bicycle she bought for me so I could ride around looking for a job. There were cold mornings when I rode that bike through long streets just searching for one small opportunity. Every time I felt tired or wanted to give up, I thought about her worried eyes and unconditional love for me. That is what gave me the strength to keep going.

That is why I chose the name “Spring” — because my grandmother’s Vietnamese name was Xuân, which means Spring. Spring also symbolizes a new beginning, hope, and new life.

I want every guest who walks into the restaurant not only to enjoy the food, but also to feel the story of family love, gratitude, and the journey of overcoming hardships to build a better life.”

❤️ Mother is someone who may not say beautiful words, but quietly does everything for her child.
There are times we think we’ve grown up, yet in our mother’s eyes, we are still the child who needs protection.

A mother’s love is not loud or conditional—it simply exists, every single day.
No matter how life changes, as long as we still have our mother, we always have a place to return to.

People may travel far to search for happiness, but sometimes happiness is simply a meal waiting at home—with mom there.

Today we wake up and look mirror 🪞 feeling younger than yesterday. We go to work with friendly employees and nice customers. We go straight to Spring Restaurant with Fresh Maitai & Tropical Magagitta without traffic. Then go home to hug someone we love 💗🥰

❤️Life is Flowers
It seems that spring has arrived late this year, not quite when we were hoping for. The weather feels a little harsher than usual, yet the birds still wake up early to search for food, the little rabbits still prepare their nests for new life, and the late flower buds quietly begin to push through the cold earth.

Life is like that too.
There are things we wait for, hope for, wish for — but they don’t come when we want them to.
And there are things that arrive without warning, changing everything in a moment.
🌷 But maybe we can be like tulips.
Even if spring comes late, we still bloom.
We still stand tall, bright and beautiful,
and quietly fill the world with our fragrance.
