“Nothing about us without us” shouldn’t be a radical concept. If disabled people aren’t involved in creating the policies that affect them, and their feedback is ignored when they object, that’s ableism. Full stop.

I asked my 4 year old son to show me his favorite page in his encyclopedia and this is the page he chose 😜📚 His second favorite page is the art page and his third favorite page is the dance page! I think I may be doing this parenting thing right LOL. Also the only page he’s ripped so far is the pollution and fossil fuels page 😂 I told him, I wish that page didn’t have to exist too, bud.

Sometimes there’s no more trauma to heal from. Sometimes you just have a genetic disorder like I do which screws with your nervous system. That’s been a wild lesson to learn after spending years thinking there just had to be more trauma to heal from. I def have childhood trauma and have spent many many years in therapy but it wasn’t until recently that I truly realized my nervous system is just plain sensitive no matter what I do. It’s because of a defect in my IgG level. It’s abnormally low and always has been and it has caused my mast cells to be unstable which trigger nervous system issues and inflammation. Sometimes, you just literally need to be gentle and loving to yourself through the dysregulated moments 🫶❤️‍🩹 Trust your intuition if you need to rest. Take time for self care if you’re feeling down. You don’t have to try and intellectualize or psychoanalyze every single moment of humanness. We all have bad days 🫶
