The stepchild generally doesn't get the best treatment, and many times, deservedly so.

This Stepchild OBS, however, has come a long way since March. Mechanically, it was solid, but real work followed with our spindles paired with a Belltech spring and shock kit, QA1 front and rear sway bars, and a fresh Borgeson steering box to tighten up the drive. The US Mags Rambler wheels were leftovers from a previous build that happened to bolt right on.

The owner now has a sporty truck to rip around town, and he's nowhere near done. That's how the good ones get built. One upgrade at a time, until it's exactly what you pictured.

Question is, would you paint it, or leave it as-is?

A crooked truck is nobody's goal.

Here's what most people run into. They grab a drop spring, bolt it on, and call the stance done. Then the truck settles with that familiar lean, because that Chevy lean is real and a spring alone won't cure it. A coilover setup does, whether you're upgrading the front or going with a full system, and it pulls the ride height to exactly where you want it.

For a few hundred more than a spring, we can put a coilover up front and you keep your stock arms. Want it a half inch lower next month? A half inch higher? Done. A spring can't do that.

You didn't lay your truck out just to watch it sit crooked in the driveway.

What's your truck sitting on right now?

This is the part about wheels no one thinks about.

Your big brake kit shows up. The rotor clears the wheel, the caliper bolts on, everything looks good. Then you go to seat the wheel and a spoke catches the caliper. Now you have to decide which one you're gonna keep, the brakes or the wheels, or whether you can simply add a spacer to fix the problem.

Rotor diameter is the easy part. Spoke clearance is what actually bites people, and it changes with every wheel design out there. That's exactly why we ask what wheels you're running before we sell you a single brake component. We already know which kits clear which spokes.

Order brakes without that conversation and you're rolling the dice. Order them with it and they just bolt on the way they should.

What are you running behind your spokes?

If you don't have an OBS, you better get one sooner rather than later.

OBS Chevy trucks are arguably one of the hottest platforms on the scene right now. Getting a nice one has a pretty high entry fee, but if you get a fixer upper, we can get you on the road to being cruise-ready.

There's no better time than now to get your hands on an OBS, and we can make yours turn heads.

It's a rescue.

Sometimes you have to look at a vehicle the same way you look at a stray animal, or a family pet being mistreated. You get in the mindset that you're rescuing it, giving the vehicle new life.

Meet C-Rusty, pronounced KRUST-ee, and this is definitely a rescue. Underneath the vintage skin is a modern LS, a full suspension setup that lays it out, updated gauges, and a Sparco wheel with a bird's eye view of custom 1976 floor mats.

Old on the outside, but back on the road and ready for a long life on the streets.

Big wheels with little factory brakes behind them is the giveaway every time.

You spent real money on the wheels, then you look through the spokes and there's a rusty stock caliper, or worse yet a super ancient drum brake. Our Pro Brake Kit fixes the look and the stop at the same time. Bigger rotors, real stopping power, and a caliper that fills the space the way it should. No four or five thousand dollar price tag to get there.

We spec the front and rear together because we already know what works with your truck and your wheels. Tell us what you've got. We handle the rest.

What's hiding behind your spokes right now?

The details you only catch when the wheels come off.

Noah's '96 OBS extended cab got the full treatment over the last few months. New suspension, new brakes, and the little things that add up to a finished truck. Painted calipers are one of those touches nobody needs, but everybody notices. Peek through the spokes and there's a pop of color where a rusty factory bracket used to be.

That's the difference between a truck that's done and a truck that gets attention. It's all in the parts most people never think about.

What color would you run behind your wheels?

One of the great things about a SWB C10 is that no matter what you do it, the truck is going to look good.

Rough and rusty, cleared patina, or a $20,000 paint job, pair it with the right drop and a proper set of Billet Specialties, Inc. SLD89 20-inch wheels, and ride out.

It also doesn't matter what's under the hood. LS swap, small block, big block, or even a straight six. You can't go wrong

We can help with whatever you want to do to your SWB.

The Southeastern Truck Nationals (SETN) is a great example of so many Chevy and GMC enthusiasts converging on one show.

It is one of the largest GM-exclusive gatherings in the country for a reason, and what makes it great is that no two of these trucks got built the same way, and every one of them has somebody's weekends in it.

SETN hosts over 1,700 Chevy and GMC trucks, so the ideas for your present or future builds are endless.

The Southeastern Truck Nationals delivered.

Every generation showed up. Advance Design trucks sitting next to squarebodies, OBS parked beside NBS, and enough clean C10s that you could spend the whole weekend in one row and still miss half of it. Patina builds, frame-off restorations, slammed street trucks, and a few that made you stop mid-sentence.

Thanks to everyone who came by the booth. Which truck was your favorite?
