We had the incredible opportunity to experience Kyudo (弓道), traditional Japanese archery, and it was so much more than just a sport. Translates as “The Way of the Bow,” Kyudo is basically Zen meditation in motion.

Paid my respects at the Kodokan today—the ultimate pilgrimage for any judoka or martial artist. Standing in the headquarters of global Judo is a bucket list moment I’ll never forget. 🥋🇯🇵

Judo is more than a sport; it’s a way of life. Had the privilege of joining the Kodomo Shidokan Tokyo as a participant observer. Seeing how seamlessly these kids blend intense hard work with deep mutual respect was beautiful to watch. Thank you to the instructors and young athletes for sharing your space with me!
