Photos from Third District Libertarian Party of Kansas's post 03/01/2026

While Republicans and Democrats are busy trying to push each other down, Libertarians are working to clean up Johnson County and the great State of Kansas. We're not afraid to roll up our sleeves to get things done even when it's cold!

You don't have to be registered libertarian to help
clean a park either. So come say hi at the next cleanup. Ask what our party is about. Bring questions!

Mother nature made it interesting today with thunder and hail starting right as we were wrapping up. And we originally planed to do this clean up a month ago and had to reschedule when a giant snowstorm came down. But Libertarians will not be deterred. I'll tell you that.

Bring gloves and a pocket knife. Safety glasses maybe, hiking shoes, a grabber if you have one. I think I'm going to bring old shopping bags to the next one to reuse some of those instead of trash bags.

Was it all worth it? I've had several people pat me on the back since the election. "Oh well you did good" "better luck next time" "sorry you lost"

People mean well. But they're wrong. I didn't lose.

There have only been four meetings since the election. Tonight was one. And 3 of the 4, new residents attended, specifically because I got them interested in paying closer attention to our city government.

Tonight was the third time now, and I thought it would be worth writing about.

Getting involved, organizing, activating our neighbors -- Hell yeah it was worth it!

Bob's on the run. I've given him derangement syndrome evidently and he's doing everything he legally can, and several things he legally can't, to squelch free speech in Merriam. He's going to get himself and the government sued, badly.

Bob's banned petitioning and organizing on public property. He's banned public discussion on the city social media. And tonight he cut back public comment severely. Shorter than it's ever been in our city.

His message is clear: The days of residents doing anything but agreeing with him and staff, are over.

And tonight, he made sure to point out that us silly peasants of Merriam don't even have a right to public comment in the first place. The city could just end it all, legally. I suppose we should be grateful to him we can even speak at all.

He's revealed himself to be a far greater tyrant than I ever believed he could be.

If you want to preserve public comment and peaceful assembly and speech in public places, your city government with Bob's approval, has made it clear: THEY'RE COMING FOR YOU WITH A BATON.

Call your state representatives today, and demand they protect public comment as core element of the Kansas Open Meetings Act, and punish officials and cities that violate the Constitution.

Representative Cindy Neighbor North of Johnson and West of Knox 785-296-7690
Representative Jared Ousley everywhere else 785-296-7366

Keep our government open. Even when they want to shut out the citizens. Perhaps ESPECIALLY when tyrannical leaders try to silence the people, that is when we most need to speak up.

And tell them to end immunity while they're at it: https://youtu.be/nGD2w8viAa4

I'm feeling so honored by the outpouring of support I received in the last month. I was blessed today to be able to literally bring Merriam voters out to the polls who would not have otherwise had transportation. And I told everyone of them they don't owe me a thing. I'm happy to answer the questions and to have gotten to know them and they should vote their conscience.

Hello , I've got a common-sense question for ya...

Would YOU buy property with no plan for use in mind? No?

So why has King Bob been buying up so much property up and down Merriam Drive without a plan? Do you believe his preposterous claims that it's for flood control?

The Army Corps has not presented a final plan, not to mention city council hasn't approved any plans yet. Bob's vacant building collection has so far cost EVERY MERRIAM HOUSEHOLD $798 just to acquire. That does NOT include demolition or maintenance costs (and you can bet that's a coming. Just acquisition.

YOU'VE PAID $798 to shutter at least 9 independent small local businesses. Was that a good use of YOUR MONEY?

Is this going to be a repeat of Circuit City? If Bob gets another 4 years you may very well find out.....

I believe that and the best way to see our downtown thrive is NOT bulldozing it! Vote Croan for the future of Merriam!!!!

I'm willing to stand up to defend the Freedom and Liberty of every one of my neighbors. And to stand for Justice and Due Process in our beautiful city.

Bob Pape has used the force of the city against me. He knew the city clerk was in the wrong and he egged her on. He took her side over that of a resident when they directly violated due process. Let that sink in.
