On June 19, 1865, the good news of freedom finally reached the last enslaved people in Texas. Juneteenth is a powerful reminder of our nation’s bruised history, but today we celebrate the dignity of every person made in God’s image and the true freedom we have in Christ.

At Real Life Ministries Treasure Valley, we thank God for the end of racial slavery, grieve the sin and brokenness it brought, and rejoice in the hope of the Gospel that unites us as one family. No matter our background, in Jesus we find real freedom, restoration, and the call to love our neighbors right here in the Treasure Valley.

“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.” (Galatians 5:1)

We’re grateful for the community God has given us, let’s keep building bridges, sharing hope, and living out Acts 2 together.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to spend some time with our Lifer Kids team at Cathedral Pines Camp in Ketchum, Idaho.

This was my first time back in 32 years.

Standing there brought back a flood of memories because this is the camp, the exact cabin, and the very spot where a counselor, led by the Holy Spirit, shared the gospel with me and helped me take my first step in accepting Jesus as my Lord and Savior.

Now, 32 years later, our Lifer Kids are at that same camp, and my son is there growing in his own relationship with Jesus.

I’m incredibly thankful for our Lifer Kids team that is serving there this week. They have invested countless hours, taken time away from home, and faithfully stepped into the lives of kids to help them know and follow Jesus. Please join me in praying for them, for strength, wisdom, protection, meaningful conversations, and for the Holy Spirit to work powerfully in the hearts of every student at camp this week.

I’m also thankful that someone chose to own the mission and share Christ with me. It wasn’t a pastor. It wasn’t a minister. It was a volunteer cabin leader at a church summer camp.

I only knew him for that one week. I never saw him again. But, Lord willing, I will one day.

Never underestimate what God can do through a simple act of faithfulness. A conversation. A week of serving. A willingness to invest in a child.

Own the mission, my friends.

You may never fully see the impact on this side of eternity, but God does. And through your faithfulness, He can change eternity for someone else.

Excited to send our amazing kids & staff off to camp today!

This week is packed with fun adventures, new friendships, and meaningful moments encountering Gods love in fresh ways.

We are praying for them:

• Deep friendships and unforgettable memories
• Hearts wide open and drawn closer to Jesus

Parents and church, let’s lift them up as they go. We cannot wait to hear all the stories when they return!

We’re overflowing with gratitude to God for the 36 kids and staff who joined us last week for Vacation Bible School! Hearts were filled with joy, songs echoed with worship, and the Gospel was shared in powerful, fun ways as we learned together about God’s love and truth.

A huge THANK YOU to our amazing VBS team, volunteers, and every family who brought their kids. Your investment in the next generation is making an eternal difference!
