Moments spent in the kitchen and around the table are some of my very favorite. Check in for recipes, kitchen disasters and classes you may want to take.

I'm hoping that the next few months will bring a lot more cooking. Tonight I looked up the recipe for tahini sauce, but just cooked everything else by intuition and feel.

We had grain bowls (farro) with roasted sweet potatoes, red onion, chicken apple sausages and kale, all seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic and smoked paprika topped with the tahini sauce.

All the traditional items, along with a table decorated by Cooper.... Dad would have been happy.

Fall dinner party with the best people... Of course we forgot to take picture of the appetizer and the dessert.

Continuing to enjoy the harvest season with a pot of butternut squash soup... This stuff tastes like fall. Our garden was a bit of a fail this year, but we're benefitting from the overflow of friend's and family's gardens.

Got fresh nectarines from a friend this week so we've had burrata with heirloom tomatoes and mint from our garden and nectarines with balsamic glaze, maldon salt the last two nights for dinner. I made nectarine freezer jam and we had cobbler for dessert. While the food has been fantastic the reflection on decade plus friendships are the real treat.

Falafel bowls with couscous salad.

Cooper didn't prefer the salad so he did his with pita and homemade hummus.

While not "authentic", this Thai Beef with Basil served with Coconut Rice from Half Baked Harvest was a winner in our house. Cooper likes spicy food so I didn't have to alter the recipe, but you could remove the sambal if needed.

I kept the sliced green onions and pickled red onions on the side and just the adults added those.

Josh made pork belly ban mi sandwiches and I made Tom Kha G*i for Christmas Eve dinner. So good!

I remembered to take pictures of the food from the Open House this year... At least part of it.
