Culinary for Kids in Meridian was delicious! We finished our tour of International Home Cooking with an Italian dish called Pizzoccheri with humble ingredients like cabbage, potatoes and pasta.

Today, in Courage Co-op , we made a delicious pasta salad with peppers, celery, cheese, salami and kalamata olives. Lots of cutting practice today!

Next week… Skillet Pizza

Harriet Powers was a former slave who became known for her creation of vibrant quilts. Today at the Courage Co-Op we created our own version of these story telling quilts.

Trimmed some bowls last night in my Home classroom. This clay when glazed fired will become specked and looks great with a white glaze.

Today’s Art Club class, on Outschool, decided to paint rafters on a river. Mine is taken from a photo I took on the Payette River. I spent a few extra hours adding detail and I think it turned out pretty good.

This week in Pottery Sampler we learned about how to create a pinch pot animal and adhere our clay.
Pottery Sampler is a part of our Home Series classes.

On Thursday we created Sand Rangoli’s for this weeks One Hit Wonder. This is a part of our Home Series classes.

This week in ART STUDIO at the Meridian POD School we used a variety of elements that we have learned in class up to this point, in order to draw a fish in a bowl. We began with black paper and learned how to add light to an object observing where our tonal variations are in order to know how much white to add to an area.
Next week we will be back at our easels and drawing with chalk pastels.
