Curious what actually happened with 30 year mortgage rates in 2024? The graph looks a lot like our favorite Sawtooth Mountains from Stanley ID!
From mid Sept to the end of the year the Fed cut the federal funds rate by 1%...and 30 year mortgage rates went up almost the same amount.

Fed Rate Cut, .25%…Mortgage Rates UP!…why?
Although the Fed Cut the Federal Funds rate on 12/18, it was widely expected that this would happen and was already baked into mortgage rates. After the cut, they came out and told us that they are now projecting only .50% of cuts in 2025 (versus 1%).
If you keep working hard there will be more market share for you in 2025 as many Realtors and Lenders exit the business. Stay focused on helping clients and working hard.

With just 5% down a buyer can now get a conventional/conforming loan for $802,650. Bluebird is rolling this out on loans now (no reason to wait until 2025!).
