Someone once asked me: What do you love most about being a coach?

The answer is simple.

I love watching people learn, apply and grow. I love watching people push their boundaries and conquer things that once seemed terrifying and impossible.

Being chosen to coach someone through one of the most difficult undertakings one can willingly take upon themselves is an honor every time, and I feel so privledge to guide them through the journey.

Sundays.

Talk about a . Back in 2015 I left my job at Idaho Athletic Club to pursue a career in plumbing so I could better support my then fiance and her two kids while she finished school. My life revolved around work. Clocking in 60 hours weeks was pretty much the norm. I stopped going to the gym. I ate like s**t. I was taking care of everyone BUT myself. And 3 years in I had gained over 50 pounds, developed sleep apnea, and I was depressed. It's so easy to get caught up with life, it can and does happen to everyone. But taking care of yourself is just as important as taking care of your loved ones. What good are you to them if your work, eat or drink yourself into an early grave?

Love them enough to make a change in yourself. Don't start tomorrow, start right now.

Tempo squats are slowly becoming my favorite thing. They're like meditation through movement, a great way to recenter yourself after a rough day. What are you training today?

Sunday mornings are my favorite. Even if they are below freezing 🥶

246 years ago Samuel Nicholas, and some of his drinking buddies, went in to Tun Tavern; and came out with a good buzz and the formation of God's favorite military branch.

I'm so grateful that I had the opportunity to be part of this brotherhood. It had truly been a childhood dream come true.
