Happy Fourth of July! We wish everyone a memorable and safe holiday celebrating America’s 250th birthday!

Deputy Chief Mike Clark worked his last shift with the Meriden Fire Department on June 12th. Deputy Chief Clark was assigned to Engine 2 and Truck 1 as a firefighter, a lieutenant at Engine 3 and captain at Engine 5 and Truck before being promoted to Deputy Chief. We thank him for his dedication to our community, department and our firefighters. We wish him a long, healthy, and happy retirement!

We offer our condolences to our brothers and sisters from New Haven Fire Department and the family and friends of Firefighter Paramedic Kochera.

Hubbard Park and Castle Craig provided a beautiful backdrop for today’s training. Truck 1, Engine 4, Car 9, and Car 3 completed a high angle rope rescue evolution this morning. Rescues within Meriden’s parks often involve challenging terrain, requiring the use of specialized equipment and training to safely mitigate.
