Meet our super handsome and sleek boy named Harvey! Harvey is about 1.5 years old and he came to our shelter after he was abandoned by his owners. A resident in our town allowed someone to leave Harvey at their home for a couple nights, but they never came back for him. Now Harvey is looking for his forever family! Harvey is a young boy who enjoys a good head and butt scratch. He has started to get more affectionate with us here and he learns routines very quickly. Harvey is a playful guy who especially loves the kong shaped toys. He will play fetch with those over and over until he is tired out. Harvey is a smart boy who listens well for treats or toys. He does have some dominant energy, so he will need a confident dog owner who will work on some basic training with him. Harvey did great at our vet office and loved everyone there. He is fine with other dogs, but we think he will want to be the dominant dog in the home. He can go to a home with older children 15 years old and older.

💔Sad update💔
Unfortunately Oliver was found deceased on the highway not long after someone allegedly chased him towards the highway area.
We understand wanting to help and get the dog to safety, but chasing and calling out to them usually makes them panic and bolt.
Always call our office and the number on the flyer so the family can head out to the last known location.
Our condolences to his family. Rest in peace sweet boy 😇🐾🌈

If you see him, please call in sightings to the number on the flyer immediately! If you have caught him and cannot get ahold of the number on the flyer, please call the non-emergency number with the Meriden Police Department at 203-238-1911, stay on the line to speak with a dispatcher and they'll send out the ACO on call to pick him up!

He is friendly but afraid of people. For the safety of the dog we ask if you see him do not call out, clap, chase, follow him or post his location. What you can do to help: Call the number immediately with the exact location: Provide the direction of travel; and describe his behavior at the time. He ran into woods, please keep a look out if you live anywhere in this area We had a sighting at Carroll park on the day he got lost. If your home is on the edge of these woods please check your security cameras He can pop out anywhere. We are not sure if he entered woods in this area or if he moved. The family misses him very much and appreciate your help. Please share

This will be held at the Meriden Animal Control shelter at 311 Murdock Ave in Meriden, CT. Dogs and cats 3 months old and over can receive a rabies vaccine for $20 CASH ONLY please. ALL CT RESIDENTS ARE WELCOME!
