The Salvation Army is conducting an initial needs assessment and preparing to respond as needs are identified.

Just a few reminders for our Merced community!
There will be no Red Shield Kids Club tonight (Wednesday, June 24). We look forward to seeing everyone back next Wednesday, July 1 at 5:30 PM as we celebrate 250 years of America. Families will learn about the American flag, watch a special flag-raising ceremony led by the local American Legion Post 83 American Legion Post 83, and enjoy an evening together. Everyone is welcome!
Also, don’t forget that tomorrow (Thursday), both the Love INC Shower Ministry Love INC Merced and the Dignity Health Mobile Unit Mercy Medical Center (Merced) will be at The Salvation Army Merced, 1440 W. 12th St. Stop by for free shower services or basic health screenings, including blood pressure and blood sugar checks.

🎒📚 Back-to-school season is almost here!
Thanks to the generosity of Walmart, local students in elementary, junior high, and high school will receive free backpacks filled with school supplies to help them start the year ready to learn and succeed.
Pickup will take place by appointment at The Salvation Army Merced Corps. We are grateful for partners like Walmart who invest in the future of our community and help ensure students have the tools they need for a successful school year.

📚🎒 Backpack applications are now open!
The Salvation Army Merced, with support from Merced Toyota, is helping local students start the school year prepared and ready to learn.
Applications will be available beginning June 15 and will remain open until all backpacks have been claimed.
