Viking Cakes get's it's name from a theory that after a long hard battle it was time for a pick me up. The onslaught of rocks created huge divots in the vikings shields. You see vikings used their shields as a cooking instrument. Well these welts in the shield created a culinary challenge for their favorite food pancakes. The rounded out divots created the better , and more awesome finger food Aebleskiver, or ebelskiver.
