We’re looking for vendors to be part of the Merced Western Days Rodeo Kick Off on June 6th at Bob Hart Square! 🛍️

This is a great opportunity to showcase your products, connect with the community, and be part of an exciting event leading up to the rodeo. We’re welcoming a variety of vendors—retail, crafts, and more. No food vendors at this time, please.

Spots are limited, so don’t miss your chance to join us for a fun-filled day in the heart of downtown!

Mutton Bustin’ sign-ups start tomorrow and end on April 11th! Entry is $50.00 and must be paid in cash, the night of the event. Participants must submit the form below via email to [email protected], and bring a copy of their birth certificate and proof of insurance on the day of the event. Riders will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis, with 15 riders competing on Friday, June 12th and 15 riders on Saturday, June 13th. We can’t wait to see all our brave little cowboys and cowgirls in action—it’s going to be a blast! 🤠

Commercial air service in Merced will continue with a new provider.

The U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded Essential Air Service to Contour Airlines, with service beginning July 1, 2026.

Passengers will have access to non-stop flights to Los Angeles (LAX) and Las Vegas (LAS) aboard 30-seat jet aircraft, offering convenient travel options for residents and businesses.

Ticket sales begin April 14, 2026.

This transition represents an important step forward for our community, supporting local businesses, expanding travel options, and strengthening regional connectivity.

The City continues work on TSA requirements and final preparations for the opening of the new Merced Regional Airport. Additional updates will be shared as they become available.
