Last Friday marked our last staff training session of a 4 part mini series led by none other than the wonderful Violet Walker from the .dos!

The topics covered were:

• Leading With Strengths-Based Restorative Mentorship
• Leveraging Your Lived Experiences As Career Capital
• Leaving Your Legacy: Sustaining Impact Beyond Your Role

Last but certainly not least on our staff spotlight series is none other than our student lead, Esosa! ✨Esosa is another Oakland native who transferred from Merriet College. He loves basketball & talking to people! If you see him on campus, ask to shoot some hoops with him 🏀

Not quite done with our staff spotlights for National Transfer Student Week 🫣 next up we have Priscilla!✨ Priscilla transferred to UCM from Madera Community College and loves to create joy through gaming! If y’all don’t know she has a pretty big Discord, so if you see her around campus definitely ask for her username.

Today is the last day of National Transfer Student Week & we partnered with some of the amazing RA’s to have a Pizza Party & Pet Rock Painting session. Come to the Commuter Lounge tonight to paint some rocks, play some games, & have some pizza!

Our staff spotlight continues! Here we have Mike!✨Mike transferred from Modesto Junior College. This past summer he took on the challenge that is orientation, so you might have seen him around or even talked to him!

Today’s first staff spotlight is Gabriel!✨Gabriel transferred from Merced College & is also an Army veteran. He’s one of the few that falls into all three of our categories, Transfer, Re-entry, & Veteran! If you see him in the TRV & want to learn how to play “Magic the Gathering,” definitely ask him to teach you (just not on his shift🫣)!
