A great success/win for youth and education in Merced at tonight’s City Council meeting. With Mayor Murphy’s leadership, Council will ADD money for parks and recreation in the City of Merced with Measure Y (and stick to the original promise). This is urgently-needed money for community-based recreation with is a must-have for great education in Merced. Took courage and creativity, but local leaders did it. Details remain on how $$ will be spent. One step forward.
