As a Board Member, you’ll have the opportunity to:
• Help shape MCCAA’s programs and priorities
• Represent the communities we serve
• Participate in important agency decisions
• Attend monthly board meetings and training opportunities

📅 Board meetings: 3rd Tuesday of each month in Merced, CA
📍 Additional meetings may occasionally be required
✈️ In-state and out-of-state training may be required, with expenses paid by MCCAA.

🌟 Staff Spotlight: Frances Flores, Intake Worker! 🌟

Today, we’re giving a big shoutout to Frances, who has been part of MCCAA’s LIHEAP team for more than 8 years! ❤️🖤

If you know Frances, you know she is someone you can always count on. She is dependable, hardworking, and never hesitates to jump in and help wherever she’s needed. Whether it’s helping a coworker, supporting a client, or tackling whatever comes her way, Frances is always willing to lend a hand.

Her kind and patient nature makes her such a wonderful intake worker, and she has a way of making people feel comfortable and supported. She is also always open to feedback and ready to roll with the changes that may come with the work which is no small thing! 😊

Frances has played a huge part in the success of our LIHEAP/Weatherization department, including helping the team reach an important contract goal. We are so grateful for everything she brings to our team and the people we serve. Thank you, Frances, for 8+ years of hard work, patience, and dedication! Your work makes a difference, and we appreciate you more than you know! ❤️👏

✨ MCCAA at National Night Out! 🌙

It was a hot one, but we had a great time connecting with our Merced community! ❤️

We shared information about all of MCCAA’s programs, showed community members how to apply online for Utility Assistance, enjoyed performances, and connected with local vendors and community partners. 🤝💡🎶

🌟Staff Highlight: Maricela Rodriguez, ECM Case Manager🌟

Maricela Rodriguez joined the ECM team in June 2024, bringing with her a strong foundation of experience from her previous role within MCCAA’s Weatherization department. Since being hired in June 2023, Maricela has supported SAI, Weatherization, and LIHEAP programs through June 2024, demonstrating her commitment to serving the community across multiple service areas.

Motivated by a desire to make a meaningful impact, Maricela pursued the ECM Case Manager role to help individuals overcome barriers related to health, housing, sustainability, and overall stability. From the very beginning, her passion for service has been evident. Maricela consistently takes initiative, approaches her work with reliability, and can be counted on to follow through on tasks with diligence and care.

As a bilingual team member fluent in both English and Spanish, Maricela plays a key role in ensuring accessibility and effective communication for the diverse populations we serve.

When asked what she finds most rewarding about her role, Maricela shared:
“The most rewarding part of my job as an ECM Case Manager is building meaningful relationships with members and helping them access the resources they need to improve their quality of life.”

Maricela’s dedication, compassion, and strong work ethic continue to make a positive impact on both her team and the clients she serves.

Need extra help completing your Utility Assistance application? MCCAA is now offering scheduled in-person appointments every Wednesday for individuals who need assistance with the application process.

📍 Appointments are available on a first-come, first-served basis and must be scheduled in advance.

We are prioritizing:
👵 Older adults (60+)
♿ Individuals with disabilities
💻Anyone who has difficulty completing the online application

📋 Please arrive document-ready. Bringing all required documents is essential so we can process your application. If you do not have all required documents at the time of your appointment, your appointment will need to be rescheduled.
